“Our vision is to establish a professional working culture in Africa that drives sustainable growth.”

 ABOUT US

WBPF Training aims at developing local professionals for sustainable economic & social development in Africa.

WBPF launched in 2014 in Uganda. There is a lack of local professionals in key positions which are currently staffed by foreign professionals.

While the number of people with higher educations is increasing in Uganda, they lack the professional mindset and behavior required. WBPF is playing a critical role in developing professionals in the field of business & social to promote sustainable development.

Our business activities are based on two strategies;

  • We provide local staff with professional mindset and skills to enable them to execute their work with excellence.

  • We aim to improve their approach to business activities enabling them to work on their own and interact confidently with upper management

We believe that these trained professionals will contribute to sustainable development for the future of Africa.

 WHY WE DO

Background why we  focus professional mindset and behavior transformation

Develop local business professionals who can take over core positions and function independently

Demands for professional resources are dramatically increasing in Africa. However, few people can take charge of core positions in organizations and companies, especially in Uganda. In many instances, foreigners take these positions instead of local professionals.

Youth unemployment is increasing amidst rapid population growth as many young people cannot be employed in core positions as qualified professionals.

“Elite” youth (University graduates) possess knowledge based education and have few opportunities to learn professional working behavior owing to lack of internships and new employee training. As a result, they will not able to work in a practical business world as a professional.

The employment rate for university students is less than 20%. With 77% of population under 30 years of age, the unemployment rate for youth is 83% in Uganda.

Although many industries are developing in Uganda and new companies are being started, many of these organizations demand professional workers and most organizations recruit foreigners for their core positions. Foreigner professionals are hired not only from the western nations, but also eastern nations like India and China as well as African nations such as Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Ethiopia.

Given this trend, questions arise as to “who can take the initiative in our social and economic development for the future? - Local professionals or foreigners?”

WBPF aims to develop local professionals who can be employed in these core positions by organizations in Uganda thereby contributing to sustainable development.

Establish innovative HR platform to create a new society that will power the economy of Africa

Our world is set to change dramatically for next 20-30 years, as new capital powers a sustainable economy.

Future innovations will come from ground-up and local communities instead of top-down and based on foreigners’ philosophies.

The new economic future requires the development of a significant number of local professionals who can integrate their culture and philosophy with sustainable business practices and present that to the world, rather than adopting foreign values and cultures.

After developing business professionals who take over core positions within local organizations, we aim to establish professional communities to create a new future.
